A lot I believe has to do with the collapse of grand narrative and the west losing confidence in itself

it doesn't have a reason to exist and is causing people to lose faith kind of like what contributed to the fall of the Western Roman Empire

Was due to the reason for the Empire in the West becoming obsolete

It took until the 20th century for Europe to truly recover from the destruction of Rome

Also it takes a lot of time and effort to truly understand history which young people don't have the timer inclination to do anymore

People prefer short videos and most people don't read books it's why publishing a book and going into writing it's such a hard business

Because people don't read anymore
