Chinese Political Culture: Imperial and Communist Systems
China is a political entity that has existed since at least 221 BC when the Qin dynasty first united China, and it has existed previously during the warring states period from 476 BC to 221 BC.
From 1046 BC to 256 BC, the Zhou dynasty ruled China, but their rule was primarily symbolic.
221 BC was considered the start of united China partly due to the disorder of the Zhou dynasty due to it losing power and giving political independence and large territories to other noble families within its empire.
Also, territories that had been given saw the expansion of the Chinese empire beyond the borders of the original Zhou China.
Also, during that period, Chinese culture continued to develop.
Due to that, culture did not experience the same kind of cultural collapse and destruction of the Western equivalent, the Western Roman Empire, which was destroyed in 476 A.D.
The Roman Republic and Empire existed from 510 BC to 476 AD.
China and its civilisation have a historical, political culture, philosophy, and language that has been developed and has continued for at least 3000 years, if not more, according to Chinese legends.
This affects the Chinese political culture because its culture itself was developed and strongly influenced by two key philosophies.
