Decline of the British and American Empires Part I
The United States of America and the British are English-speaking peoples who originate from the island nation of England, the native birthplace of the English language.
However, the more politically correct term in contemporary times is Anglo-American or Anglo-Saxon.
Why this is controversial regarding terminology will not be the topic of this article.
What will be discussed is similar realities and mirroring of the decline of the British and American empires, respectively.
History does not repeat itself, but it does very much rhyme and of similar beats, which is true for the decline of the American Empire.
There are common differences and similarities between both empires.
In the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, both began programs of expansionism, colonialism, and conquest to expand their borders with the first settlements of what we now regard as the United States of America, starting with the foundation of the first settlements in Jamestown in 1607.
From that date, the American colonies, which became the United States of America after winning the American War of Independence from 1775 to 1883 against the British, began a policy of conquest, extermination and ethnic cleansing of the Native Americans that…
