Denmark Prepares for War with Russia

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen spoke to journalists on February 9, 2024, and stated there is a strong stance of NATO being at war with Russia within the next 3 to 5 years and that Denmark and Baltic states shall be on the front line of that conflict.

In any opening moves of a war with Russia, NATO’s first target will be to secure the Baltic Sea and take over the Russian territory of Kaliningrad, which borders the territories of Poland and Lithuania and keeps most of the Russian Baltic fleet base there.

From Russia’s position in the Baltic, they could potentially threaten the Scandinavian nations, and any defence on the part of Scandinavian nations would be in a coalition with Denmark and Sweden dominating the military command and control.

Map of Denmark

At least until the significant great powers of Britain, Germany, and France can deploy military assets to the region; however, in any grand military campaign, the American military will be the leader due to its status as the world’s only truly global power.

As for the military situation in Denmark, the average age of the population is 44 years old, which makes them unfit for any large-scale modern warfare where there are industrial levels of carnage and the sheer loss of life involved in modern warfare.
