For the British before their strategic overreach due to the rise of nationalism particularly in India in the late 19th and early 20th

As well as Nations becoming more industrialized

Meant the British Empire in its original form was untenable

The English and then British navy from 1688 onwards he told Napoleons defeat at Waterloo in 1815

Was highly successful because the fleet helped to create homegrown industries and sparked the industrial Revolution in 1769

Due to most of Britain's forests being cut down for timber to feed the Royal navy

Also the Royal navy helped to secure foreign markets and protect England merchant navy

It was British sea power which contribute to Britain success and wealth

Would most likely still do that if a deglobalized world with out the USA being the wolrds policeman

Also success of the Royal navy in the 7 years war 1754 to 1763 led to the American Revolution because the British removed

Any real threats to the 13 colonies which meant their no longer any incentive for them to stay with British

Which is a very British thing to do and Westminster should have seen what was coming
