For the English speaking world and for the Western world it is the fact we have such weak family structures

Which has made us so successful also makes us more socially isolated but it's that separation from family commitments

Which also leads to greater social mobility and the ability to move

In England since at least the 13th century family structures have been very weak and that children typically left the households

To do apprenticeships at around 9 years old and that went against the norm everywhere else

It also led to the increase use of cash within the economy which led to greater economic prosperity

The cross farmers rather than having the family work for free paid labourers

As for today the average person only sees their parents 12 times a year
