For the United States Russia is a European problem and a regional problem it's not a global problem like China

People forget that the United States stripped Taiwan of their seat in the UN security council and gave it to communist China

They did this because they wanted to take China away from Alliance with the Russians during the Cold War

For the United States it's pivoting to the pacific which requires amphibious and naval capabilities not a land army which is needed in Europe
