Geopolitics of North Dakota

For today’s article, I will be discussing the geopolitical situation of North Dakota, which involves agriculture and the railways.

North Dakota is the only state in the United States of America that is a large producer of agricultural goods as well as an exporter of those products.

This is quite an achievement with North Dakota, unlike the other agricultural production states within the United States.

Unlike these others, North Dakota doesn’t have access to waterways, with North Dakota being landlocked.

North Dakota leads the USA in production of spring wheat, durum wheat, dry edible peas, dry edible beans, honey, flaxseed and canola.

North Dakota is also the is the number one producer of honey in the United States of America.

These agricultural achievements are extraordinary, normally transporting to be profitable concerning exports.

Products are normally transported by sea, with around 90% of all international trade on waterways.

Moving stuff by water is 1/12 the cost of transportation by truck.
