I do believe with the end of religion especially Christianity in the Western world it's left people with consumerism and materialism

It's the logical conclusion relationships would only be seen through the lens of what wealth and aesthetics can be extracted from the relationship

It's not based on anything more substantial so just oaths, love and building a long lasting but hard relationship
