I don't agree with that but I understand American point of view because the American War of independence is part of the American foundational myth

British had freedom of the press the king had no real power and was relegated to a ceremonial role

By the 18th century and Britain was very hands off in its rule of the colonies

British soldiers were deployed to North America after the seven years War partly due to the British seeing the army as a force of tyranny

Hence why they where sent to North America with people whom believe exactly the same thing which was a colossal mistake

I don't believe the 13 colonies Rebellion was actually justifiable I would say that the interests were no longer aligned

And it was very necessary for the USA to destroy any link to its English heritage

It's why know one in the USA talks about the English heritage but they talk about their Scottish or Irish heritage

One of the biggest ethnic groups whith in the US is English but nobody talked about it for obvious reasons

Claims of tyranny of the British and bad rule of King George the third is just wrong but I would say the administration of the prime minister at the time

Miss handle the situation and William Pitt the elder stated the colonies should be treated as Britain's children not as Britain's bastards

But what's done is done I got a lot of my Information from the book the glorious course 1762 to 1789 on the American Revolution

Just so you don't I am making things up it's just a different point of views and a different narrative which I believe in
