I think it's the impact of the internet and all the alternatives forms of entertainment and information

It means there is no one cultural consensus which divides people even more

I was watching a podcast which says the reason far Star Wars doing bubbly was due to the toxic fan base

But to mean it's just because they are making bad TV shows

Also it seems to me their are elements in entertainment wanting to make everything gay or build characters with no substance

The TV show echo is a good example of that

They give characters a disability and expect that to be character development

Show like Arcane on Netflix are great examples characteration which are LGBTQ with good storytelling

Which has brought appeal to wider audiences

I think a lot of this stuff is imported from the American political discourse
