I think that most of us don't know what we really want we just do what society tells us we should want

Hence like you stated it's important to look inwards

But then again don't we do anything for external validation

We don't dress ourselves smartly for ourselves we do it for other people

Sometimes for myself I'm speaking for I think that maybe I want success due to growing up in a knot financial a secure family

And I saw the stress it caused my family and growing up we've neighbours

Who could take their children jet skiing and afford to build them a massive wendy house to play in

When my parents couldn't even afford a cheap holiday in the UK and we had to eat process food

There's definitely a philosophical discussion to be had

About the nature of reality and the motivations to be more than what we are
