I would have to say it can be due to lack of self esteem and that when you are dating someone when you are young

You put them on a pedestal and make then not human in the head because you may think if they are messed up like me

Then why would anybody want to be with somebody like that

People don't want to see the flaws and issues with their partners

I would say for generation z and millennials to a lessser degree that social media have wrecked communication

I remember dating a woman who could only communicate through text people just don't want to talk

And I mean that in over situations as well
