If Society Wants Women to Have Children, Then Society Must Change

Throughout the developed world, there is a growing crisis of low fertility rates due to men and women, for various reasons, choosing not to have children or, more commonly, delaying having children.

(Here is my behind the paywall link.)

Women and men are delaying having children for many reasons.

One is the wrongly held belief that men and women have a longer fertility window than they do, which, in reality, men and women’s ability to have children is much shorter than the commonly held beliefs.

For a woman, if she thinks she’s going to have children by the time she reaches her mid-30s, the chances are she will not have children.

As for a man it is unlikely as he gets older, he will be able to attract a younger woman.

The reasons are cultural differences and generational differences in how people develop life experiences, which make it hard for couples even the same age to get along.

I like to surf on the weekends, and it’s annoying that my girlfriend is not interested in similar activities.

As we age, we know what we like to do in our spare time.

Of course, we have less free time due to work, family, and other relationship commitments.
