Is Estonia Prepared for War Against Russia
If you’ve clicked on this article, you will wonder if Estonia, with a population of over 1.3 million, is prepared for a war against Russia.
The answer is, frankly, no.
Estonia only has over 4200 active military personnel, over 40,000 in the nation, and 230,000 in reserve, of which 38,800 have rapid response.
In a pound-for-pound struggle between two modern nations, the Estonian state doesn’t have the population to fight a traditional war against a great power.
To give you some context, from the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022, Ukrainians have suffered 70,000 killed and 121,000 wounded.
Though the Ukrainian government claims only 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed, however, both the Russian Federation and the Ukrainian government will try to play down their casualties during the war in Ukraine.
Maintain morale at home so that the soldiers keep fighting on the frontline and stay motivated to keep fighting.
Estonians would not survive a war against a mid-tier power nation such as Poland, with a population of over 40 million, and especially against a population of Russia over 140 million.
