It's the investment if somebody spends four to eight years in higher education

The point of that education is not for education sake before the pursuit of higher social status and wealth

The only people who can get education for education sake are those from wealthy families who have good connections

If you are from a poor working class family the university could be a way out of poverty or at least that was how it was marketed to me
