It's well documented that prisons don't work but it plays well with the voters with democracies elected politicians

Must serve the voters even when the voters are wrong and only farmed that's what underpins democratic government

It is the kind of government has made the west successful though that can be debated because America and Britain where not democracies in the 18th and 19th centuries

Britain did not become a full democracy untip ending of world War 1 in 1919

Sometimes sadly democracy becomes government by the uninformed, for informed and iglenance is a great evil than evil itself
