On that topic the USA is a very unique case which doesn't apply everywhere else
In the 1990s I believe the African Caribbean population in the United Kingdom was around 1.6%
In the USA during the American War of independence the African American population was around 25%
And the colonies set up in the early 17th century
It's just a very different history of development
If you look at China they have been conquering, committing genocides and being invaded for over 5 millennium
The history of humanity is the history of colonialism, war and Conquest
I do understand or at least partially understand for the United States slavery and racism is that Nations original sin
We get that imported to the rest of the English speaking world
You are in the USA I got no idea if you are black, white, Asian or green but I do wonder are you told the USA is evil
What's it like in your education system
In Scotland their education system often talks about Robert the Bruce and the Scottish Wars of independence
Which is very much not historically correct but it is the Scottish national party using the Scottish education system
To ensure that the next generation will vote for an independent Scotland
History and identity can be very much shaped by the stories we tell each generation
In England kids no longer learn about Winston Churchill
