On 6 May 2024, a pivotal moment in this year’s diplomatic and geopolitical landscape unfolded as the leaders of the French Fifth Republic and the communist leadership of China convened.

In a moment of personal reflection, President Xi Jinping met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée Palace in Paris.

He expressed his joy at embarking on his third state visit to France, which coincided with the 60th anniversary of China-France relations.

This encroachment in the hopes of improving relations between the French and the Chinese is highly unlikely to occur between these two nation-states due to a long-term geopolitical and economic interest being opposed to one another.

The French and the Chinese have one thing in common: their dislike of the current Anglo-American world order, which has dominated geopolitics and controls global shipping lines and diplomatic power.

Since the French defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 at the hands of the British in current times, the English-speaking peoples of Great Britain have dominated international politics and then the United States since the end of World War II in 1945.

The British also passed the torch of leadership from themselves to the United States, a peaceful transition from one global power to the next.
