Republican Party’s Unholy Trinity of Religious Conservatism, Liberalism and Socialism

The United States of America has a first-past-the-post system, meaning only two political parties can function in that system.

The party that achieves the most votes ultimately wins political power in Washington, DC.

The Republican Party has existed since 1854.

Today’s article examines the political ideology of the current political party, not the political party of the previous two centuries.

The Republican and Democratic parties within the United States of America have repeatedly, throughout their long histories, changed the ideologies and the factions that make up both particular parties in the 19th century.

The Republican Party was viewed as incredibly liberal and had pro-environmental policies, creating the United States’ first national parks.

This is in comparison to the Democratic party that used to dominate the southern United States and strongly campaigned for the protection of the institution of slavery, which in the United States had to be abolished by having a civil War called the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865.

So, their ideologies are not politically fixed but often change repeatedly.

The two major political parties that governed America under different names have undergone seven transformations of political factions.
