The Amazon Shopping View of Relationships
Today’s dating market is increasingly becoming commoditised, and dating is very similar to Amazon’s shopping site or another online shopping platform.
You get a photo of the product, in this case, a person, and you get their preferences, hobbies, location, and a brief description.
This gives people the illusion of getting a date that is as convenient as ordering a product from Amazon and getting it as next-day delivery.
This also cheapens the value of having a relationship because it gives men and women the illusion, especially those who live in cities with plenty of opportunities.
The sad truth is that the longer you are single and not in a committed relationship, the more your options as you get older decrease, and you get poorer and poorer available options.
There is a reason people in their late 20s or even early 30s are not in long-term relationships.
The reasons could be commitment issues, other priorities, or the fact that it may not be a big deal, which can lead them to panic in their early 30s when trying to find a boyfriend or husband to start a family with.
It also works the same way for men.
