The Future of Poland After Deglobalisation

The future of Poland could be prosperous in a Post globalised world and then a deglobalised world.

The world we know is where the United States of America has a frozen history and stopped the great wars that existed in Europe since the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 A.D. until the end of World War II in 1945.

The issue for Poland was that the only times in its history when it was a great power and even held Moscow for two years was when the surrounding great and regional powers were weak, particularly the Russians and the Germans, who are continental powers.

As for regional powers, the Swedish Empire during the 17th and early 18th centuries helped parts of Polish territory now linked to the Baltic Sea.

The difference between a great power and a regional power is that regional powers can dominate a small area of land; for example, Sweden can conquer Scandinavia, including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

However, Sweden didn’t have the power to dominate great continental powers such as France, Russia, or Germany, so Sweden could never become the hegemony of the European continent.

What makes a great power is that it can dominate not just its region but potentially become the hegemony of its continent.
