If you are interested in social justice movements, I have to state, for better or worse, that the true goal of feminism is to be free of men.

I am not saying this as a negative or a positive, just the fact that women wish to be free of men, which may also be a wish for women to become men.

Women historically had various reasons until the advent of industrialisation and the advent of the first contraceptive pill developed in the early 1950s and then went mainstream in the 1960s, which gave women the ability to control their sexual reproduction.

With this control of female body autonomy, women became free of the burden of labour depending on their point of view of having children and raising a family.

Women can also enter the workforce without spending 20 years or more on childcare duties.

Furthermore, this enabled women to develop their incomes and career paths where they no longer had to rely on men to maintain their lifestyles.

That way, they could spend their money on goods and services.

Also, it wasn’t until 1993 that marital rape became illegal and the United States of America in all of its 50 American states.

For the United Kingdom, this happened a little bit earlier in 1991.
