Welcome back to today’s article.

This article is not a factual piece; it is an opinion piece.

I’m excited to share my musings on love, relationships, and life with you.

Today, I invite you to explore the concept of the opposite of love with me.

While many view the opposite of love as hatred, it is, in fact, indifference.

This is a state of mind in which the individual, whether within a relationship or with the sexual or familial opposite person, feels nothing.

Love

Suppose an individual does not feel any emotion but is merely indifferent.

In that case, it is the opposite of love because if you hate somebody or feel jealous of somebody, that is a sign, no matter how twisted, that there is still a form of love, and that person is still very much on your mind.

Suppose an individual argues with a family member that they feel nothing, whether hatred, frustration, or jealousy.

Indifference shows that the love that holds relationships together has been destroyed, underlining the crucial role of love in our lives.

If you argue with somebody and do not care about their opinion or their feelings, that is a sign of an absence of love or affection within the relationship.

Indifference, from my experience, can also be used as a form of emotional abuse, a serious issue that we should all be aware of.

This is when a child or an adult does not receive the necessary love or affection from the people who are their primary love interest or primary caregiver.

People need love to function and have fulfilment.
