The Sunzia Wind Farm
In the northern hemisphere, that is, the North American continent, the largest green tech-powered generation system is being constructed in New Mexico.
This is called SunZia wind farm. Pattern Energy is funding the project.
They had to raise an upfront cost of US$11 billion, intending to generate a whopping 3.5 gigawatts of wind power for the NM, AZ, and CA energy markets.
This is quite an achievement because 44% of the Boomer generation has already retired, and the Boomers control 70% of global investment capital, meaning with them retiring capital, costs are much more expensive, and companies find it harder to raise capital to invest.
Sunzia wind farm is a massive step forward for the United States of America’s move from fossil fuels to green tech.
However, the transition period will be long, and there will still be a mixture of fossil fuels and renewable energy for the foreseeable future.
Pattern Energy invests in wind farms because the cost is far more cost-effective. With wind power, by building them higher in the sky, you’re almost guaranteed more continuous wind will help to generate reliable and renewable electricity.
For renewable energies to work for wind farms, they must be placed where there is wind, and for sun farms, they need to be placed…
