For people reading today’s article with daddy issues, this topic concerns the United Kingdom without the United States of America.

You may find today’s topic sensitive due to the historical trauma of the American War of Independence from 1775 to 1783.

If you are still reading this, the article discussion for today shall revolve around the United Kingdom’s economic and geopolitical security dilemmas as the global order built and maintained by the United States of America over the last 80 years begins to break down.

The British never quite came to terms with the end of the Empire and resolved not to address the issue entirely.

Unlike the other former great global powers within the European continent, the Dutch, the French and the Germans accepted reality.

As for the United Kingdom, they still manage the economy as if it were a global empire, and to facilitate this method of management, they required a new empire and new trading markets which they got by joining the European Union.

USA and UK

With the United Kingdom leaving the European Union in 2016, they no longer have access to those markets.

With EU nations having internal demographics and economic issues, it will most likely mean that the European Union will not be an option for the United…
