Ukraine War: Artillery Is King
Much has been made during the Ukraine war of the Ukrainians becoming the experts in robotics and drone technology in regards to pursuing their war of national defence against the Russian Federation since the Russian second invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Ukrainians undeniably have scored successes with drone technology and its capabilities to go as far as Tatarstan and potentially target 75% of the Russian population, which predominantly living western Russia.
They have also successfully destroyed 24 Russian ships in the Black Sea and are winning the war at sea without even having an effective navy to combat the Russian black sea fleet.
However, all the successes and the revolution of warfare with the development of drone warfare have given the rest of the world a glimpse of what future battlefields will look like in the 21st century.
Even with Ukrainian advancements in drone technology, drones are still not the giant killers in Ukraine, for that title belongs to Artillery, which is still king.
In European warfare, artillery in gunpowder has been around since at least the 14th century.
