What Is a Traditional Wife

Welcome back. For today’s article, I will discuss what a traditional wife is and what this means and represents for the broader Western society, particularly the English-speaking world.

What a wife is often defined by the economic and material conditions at a particular time, and wives were invented to tackle social problems.

Humanity often develops sophisticated social technologies which help to regulate human behaviour, such as slut shaming and shaming a man not providing for his family or working in a job.

The technology of social shame helps regulate and control human behaviour.

Without social norms, including shame, society would be unable to govern effectively.

Society would be left with a free-for-all within the sexual and social marketplace.

Slut shaming was invented because, in an age before the current welfare state and social protections that are given to young women who have babies outside of marriage, it would have meant historically that the broader family would have had financial and personal responsibilities looking after the baby and the mother.
