What May Happen if America Leaves NATO?

The Republican front-runner and 45th president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, is running for election in 2024 to avenge his 2020 election defeat to the current reigning president of the USA, the 46th US President, Joe Biden.

In Donald Trump’s recent campaign rallies, he has stated that European allies do not contribute enough to NATO and that the United States will not give support under a Donald Trump presidency if he wins in 2024.

According to his point of view, members of NATO within the European continent don’t contribute enough, and American lives and money should not be spent to fight for them.

This point of view is increasingly believed to be accurate by many Americans.

During the presidency of George W. Bush in the early 2000s, Bush attempted to get NATO members to increase their defence spending.

Unfortunately, the George Bush administration from 2001 to 2008 was distracted by the war in Afghanistan and the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The United States is becoming increasingly isolationist and refusing to talk about America’s place in the world after the Cold War period.
