Why Did Russia Not Use Nukes on Ukraine

The geopolitical analyst and author Peter Zeihan has predicted for years that war between the nation-states of Russia and Ukraine is inevitable, and this was borne out with Russia’s first invasion of Ukraine in 2014, with a part of eastern and southern Ukraine being conquered by Russia.

Now we have in current times the total war which exists between both states since the Russian direct invasion of mainland Ukraine and its march to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, in February 2022.

Since then, at least 500,000 Russians have been killed fighting Ukraine, and with Ukrainians suffering were 34,000 civilian casualties, though some estimates put casualty figures for Ukrainians between 10,000 and 16,000.

Please keep in mind that it is tough to get accurate information from the battlefield of Ukraine and that Ukrainians and Russians are not being honest about their casualty figures.

Still, the Ukrainian military regularly engaged in engagements against the Russians and won battles where they were outnumbered by 6 to 1 or 8 to 1 odds in favour of the Russians.

Russia historically fights its wars very badly.
