Why I Was Overweight

Being overweight is endemic throughout the Western world and in highly developed nations because we live comfortable lifestyles and are working office jobs; we can spend eight hours a day not doing any movement or other extraneous activities.

This means that without self-discipline and self-awareness, we can very easily and quickly let ourselves go by not having self-discipline.

Also, social media negatively affects our impulse control and attention spans.

I don’t know about you, but since I’ve been working primarily with computers, my ability to sit down and read a standard paper book is a lot harder than it used to be.

I believe that we are, as a society, all suffering from a mild form of ADHD being caused by the use of social media and screen use.

There’s a reason why people such as Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and Zuckerberg do not allow their children to play with or go on tablets.

Other people involved in the tech industry don’t let their children use tablets until the ages of 16 and 18.

Happy people at the GYM

Why does this apply to how I was overweight due to a lack of self-awareness and mindfulness of my own thoughts? When I used to see food, I would eat the food, not thinking about the consequences of that lifestyle choice.
