Why The Public See Politicians as Robots
People who are interested in politics or like to watch the news will often find politicians come across as aliens or robots when interacting with members of the public.
Marketing, technological change, and the Gulf between ordinary people and the political leadership are the reasons for this.
As we live, we accumulate new experiences that shape us and the person we may become.
This also applies to political leadership.
Due to the gap in their experiences, people in high-performance professions will have nothing in common with the average man or woman on the street.
Education and culture also play a massive part in this growing divide between these groups because the academic and political classes do not value the same things as members of the public on average.
This can be seen in the U.K.’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak leaving the Armed Forces Day celebrations early in May due to the leadership classes that don’t value self-sacrifice or nationhood.
We can see this in America’s 45th President, Donald Trump, who does not see any value in serving his country because he comes from a different world perspective, which values the self above everything else.
