Why Trad Wife’s Don’t Work
The new online conservative phenomenon called trad wives advocates a return to the perception of traditional female role models and ways of living predominantly in elements of upper-class United States American middle-class households in the 1950s.
What are the conservative elements within the American conservative movement and of the right of American politics and advocating their view of a return to a traditional feminine household and traditional feminine role models?
I will argue from two points of view that this is an ideological viewpoint that won’t work in modern contemporary societies due to the need for a two-income household to ensure children go to school and all their material needs and your material needs are met.
Secondly, the kinds of conservative households of the traditional wife of the 1950s only really existed briefly in industrialised societies due to women losing cottage industry jobs due to the 19th-century Industrial Revolution.
The way the family used to operate was as a corporate family of generational households where they would take care of the elderly and work with the wives and husbands, and would all care for one another and work in the fields.
Women would have jobs helping to collect the harvest and make clothing for themselves and their extended corporate family…
