Why West Germany Was Not Punished After World War 2

Germany is a nation that is responsible for Two World wars and responsible for the deaths of over 75 million people during World War II, though some figures put it much higher.

Of those deaths, over 40 million were civilian and 20 million military casualties.

The Germans fought World War II from 1939 to 1945.

The estimated casualties during the conflict were between 6 to 8 million, with many being unaccounted for.

The question has got to be asked, which is on the mind of many British people, how come the British, having won two world wars, were not as prosperous as their German counterparts, and how come the Germans were not punished for the death of over 6 million Jews during the Holocaust?

The answer to the decline of British power is mainly structural and economic, as well as the decline of British power since the 1860s.

That discussion is outside the scope of this article, but it is something to be aware of now.

West Germany was not punished after World War II primarily due to practicality and geopolitics.
