Why You Need to Work in the Office

Welcome back to today’s article, which will be an opinion piece on whether working in the office or from the comfort of your own home is ideal.

By doing so, you can save money on travel costs and have more time to spend on hobbies, friendships, family, and others.

I would much rather work from home, but my years in the working world and the nature of office politics taught me that this is not a good idea.

Unfortunately, suppose you wish to be successful in the workplace, i.e. don’t lose your job.

In that case, you must play the games of office politics, which means generally being well-liked by your colleagues and particularly the middle management.

If you have support regarding redundancies or promotions, you will be at the top of the list regarding advancement and the bottom regarding redundancies.

In the modern working environment, there is no such thing as having a job for life.

My background is in communications, digital marketing, copywriting, and journalism, and I have had over 36 jobs since November 2020.

That is due to the industry's short-term nature and the tendency to hire staff as needed, which means you are very likely made redundant after completing your initial contract.
