Winston Churchill is a man of his time he is a man who is of the 19th century and of 20th century

He is a product of his time

I think he must be understood in that context

If you apply 21st centuries cultural norms to a man who was a Victorian and who was born when Charles Darwin was alive

It's not a fair comparison because people are products or their times political and cultural norms

In regards to controversy he lived through and was part of governments during the first and second world war as well as the aftermath

Particularly in regards to the first world war
