What made Western Europe and the European project triumphant with the creation of modernity and the creation of the modern world is that it originated in the European People’s.

In that sense, Europe is bigger than just a continent.

The key to the triumph of the West is its historically weak family structures, particularly in north-western Europe.

(Here is my behind the paywall link.)

These weak structures meant there wasn’t the same domineering patriarch in the household.

When I talk about property and the patriarchy, I am referring to the land being controlled by the head of the family and that person, in turn, being able to influence the rest of the family.

In practical terms, this male individual controls the family and the household to understand economics.

Economics initially references the household’s economy as the primary means of production.

Western Europe Historical Weak Family Structure

The patriarchs controlled the property they owned or ran.
